Homage to Late Shri. Praveen Shankar B.M.
Last year on 15th August 2011, at 7.00 AM in the morning, I got a call from Mangalore asking if “I had any news about an accident which involved Mr. Praveen Shankar B.M. in Thailand during his family holiday”. After confirming from various sources it was confirmed that Mr. Praveen Shankar B.M expired on 14th August 2011 in Thailand in an accident.
I still have the memory strong in my mind and have saved all his SMS messages that we exchanged before he left for his holiday and we had decided to have a joint meeting on 19th August to sort out the Narayana Karthappa Memorial illegal Land sale issue after his return back to India. Mrs. Praveen Shankar is an witness to all these conversation since she was with him while we were speaking over telephone.
Mr. Praveen Shankar B.M was strongly against the selling of this propertyowned by the Thiya Community and we both have exchanged many communications to this effect and he supported the initiatives taken by TWA by appreciating our attitude and approach towards the common interets of the Thiya Community. We have had hours of healthy discussions on how to save our land in Mudipu and sort out the Narayana Karthappa Memorial Land issue involving top Thiya brass and build an Engineering college in Mudipu, Mangalore. The dream of Shri Praveen Shankar B.M is unfulfilled and we need to fulfil his dream of building an Engineering college in Mudipu, Mangalore.
I, on behalf of the Thiya Community and as the President of Thiya Welfare Association humbly pay homage to the great departed soul of the Thiya Community who always and ever thought about the uplift-ment of the Thiya Community.
Lately an annual sports meet was organised in Mangalore last month in memory of Shri. Praveen Shankar B.M. The details of the “Praveen Shankar Memorial Krida Kutha” are in our website https://thiyawelfare.wordpress.com/?s=praveen+shankar.
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE
