49th branch of Mumbai based Bharat Bank opens at Kundapur

Kundapur, Aug 18: The 49th branch of Mumbai-based Bharat Bank (Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mum) Ltd.), a multi-state scheduled bank, was inaugurated at Veenu Complex, Opp. Canara Bank, Near Bus Stand, Kundapur on Saturday, August 18. This is the 11th branch of the Bank in Karnataka.

The Honorary President of the Bank, Mr. Jaya C Suvarna inaugurated the Branch by cutting the ribbon and lighting the sacred lamp.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Bank, Ms. Rohini J Salian, An Eminent Public Prosecutor in Mumbai inaugurated the ATM Section. Senior Director Ms. Pushpalata N Salian inaugurated the Locker Facility at the new branch.

Vidwan Keshav Shanti and disciples performed religious rituals at the newly-opened branch.

Its notable that more than 4,000 bank accounts where opened at the branch and more than INR 12 Crore of deposits were collected.

Program saw the presence of eminent personalities of Billava Community like Mr. Suresh S. Poojary – Hotelier and Social Worker, Mr. Chandrashekhar Palthady – chief Editor of Karnataka Mala Mumbai, Mr. NT Poojary – President of Kundapura Billava Samaja Seva Sangha,  Mr. Kalappa Poojary – Ex- President of Kundapura Municipal Corporation, Mr. Narayana Billava – Ex- President of Kundapura Billava Samaja Seva Sangha, Mr. BP Poojary – Former Director of BCB Ltd., Mr. Ramesh M Poojary – Trustee of Shanishwara Temple Navi Mumbai,  Mr. LV Amin – President of Billawar Association and Director of BCB Ltd., Mr. Gangadhar J Poojary – Hotelier (Mumbai and Bangalore), Mr. NM Sanil – Former Treasurer of Billawar Association, Mr. Narsappa C Salian, Hotelier from Mumbai, Mr. Vasant V Salian – Former Karnataka Minister, Mr. Jinraj Salian – LIC Development Officer, Mr. Dayanand Kumar – International Sportsmen and Others. Hundreds of customers were present on the occasion.

Directors of the Bank Ms. Pushpalata N Salian, Mr. Raja V Salian, Mr. Jyothi K Suvarna, Mr. Y. Nagesh, Chandrashekar S Poojary, Mr. JV Kotian, Mr. Bhaskar M Salian were also present.

Mr. CR Mulky, MD and CEO of the Bank welcomed the gathering. Mr. Nityanand D Kotian, DGM of the Bank Compered the Program.  Branch Manager Mr. Ram P Havanje proposed vote of thanks.

The Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, registered under The Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 (Registration No. Bom/Bank/138 of 1977 dated 9th June, 1977) popularly known in the metropolis as Bharat Bank has commenced its Banking operations with a capital base of Rs.6.32 lacs from its present registered office at 64/72, Mody Street, Fort, Mumbai – 400 001 since 21.08.1978. The Reserve Bank of India has issued Banking License vide License No.ACD.MH 108-P dated 8th June,1978.

In the year 1978, several young, enthusiastic and like-minded social workers associated with The Billawar Association, Mumbai , a leading Charitable Institution sponsored the Bank. Billawar Association Mumbai recently completed its 80th Year of Existence.

Today BCB Ltd., has a working Capital of more than INR 4900 Crore with total turnover of INR 7200 Crore, Deposit of INR 4300 Crore and Loans of INR 2900 Crore.

On August 21 2012, 50th Branch of Bank will be opened at BC Road, Bantwal which is going to Mark a Huge Milestone.
