TWA, Mumbai 17th Jan, 2013
After successful completion of the Great Yatra to Vaishnodevi by Thiya Welfare Association (TWA) last month, the TWA is geared for 3rd Thiya Day in Thokkotu, Mangalore.
The preparation for the 3rd Thiya Day and AGM is concluding and the Thiya artists are all ready to perform in their home ground in Mangalore.
The last 5 months have been very hectic and 80 Thiya artists in the age group of 8 to 65 years from Mumbai, Kerala, Bangalore and Mangalore are getting ready and rehearsing very hard to perform their events on stage before the 1000 plus strong Thiya members gathering to witness the grand event flawlessly.
A bogey full of artists and their relatives are leaving Mumbai on 24th by Matsyagandha to Mangalore for this mega event “3rd Thiya Day” at Mangalore.
It was great effort by the Trustees, Managing Committee and Cultural Committee members to promote this never ever attempted mega event in Mangalore where 80 artists are performing various shows that includes prayer, Thiya Song, Bharat Natyam, Tulu skits, Tulu Lavani, Kolatta, Jaanpradha Nrithya, Kochi Dance and kannada Yakshagana by english educated Mumbai Thiya members.
Hats off to the Cultural committee, The Chairperson, The members and 80 Thiya performing artists, to take this challenge head-on, in-spite of all the thick and thin of happenings to put this BIG JIGSAW puzzle together and showcase their hidden skills in front of their relatives in Kerala and Karnataka.
